Terms
The Bone Room is free, it is in beta, and it is made by one person. These are the terms for using it, written so that you can actually read them.
Last updated 5 September 2026.
01 · Who it is for
You need to be 16 or over.
The Bone Room is for anyone aged 16 or over who wants to know the bones. Students use it alongside their courses, but it is not a course and it does not replace one. By using it you are telling me you are at least 16.
02 · Beta
It is a beta, which means three things.
First, things may change. Screens move, features arrive and occasionally leave, and the curriculum grows as new case files are checked and added. Second, your progress record is carried across those updates, on your device and, if you have an account, in the copy kept with it. Third, corrections are wanted. If a bone is wrong, a plate looks odd or a sentence does not make sense, please tell me, because that is what a beta is for.
03 · Free
It costs nothing, and there is nothing to cancel.
The Bone Room is free to use, with or without an account. There is no paid tier today and no subscription. If that ever changes, the free version will keep working and I will say so plainly before anything is charged for.
04 · Accounts
An account is optional and belongs to whoever holds the email.
You can use The Bone Room without an account, and one is worth having once your progress matters to you, because it keeps a copy of your record that can follow you to another device. If you make one, you sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address, so please keep that address yours, because anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. You can delete your account at any time from the app’s Privacy screen, and the privacy page explains exactly what an account stores.
05 · Accuracy
The anatomy is checked, but this is not a medical reference.
Every name, count and field note in The Bone Room was checked against published references before shipping and carries its source. The specimen plates are illustrations that have been reviewed against written descriptions but not yet by a qualified anatomist, so treat a plate as a good likeness rather than a reference image. None of it is medical advice, and nothing here should be used to make decisions about anyone’s health. How The Bone Room is made describes the process in full.
06 · Fair use
Use it to learn, and leave it working for everyone else.
You are welcome to use The Bone Room for your own learning and to share it with anyone who might like it. Please do not try to get into other people’s accounts, overload the service, or copy the plates and curriculum to sell or pass off as your own. The illustrations and the writing belong to The Bone Room; the anatomy, of course, belongs to everybody.
07 · Availability
It is offered as it is, by one person, and it may go down.
I try to keep The Bone Room up and working, but it is a free beta run by one person, so it may be unavailable or change without notice, and I cannot promise it will always exist. To the extent the law allows, it is provided as it is, without warranties, and I am not liable for any loss that comes from relying on it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights the law gives you that cannot be limited.
The Bone Room is made in Germany by Ichor Ventures UG (haftungsbeschränkt), whose details are on the Impressum page, and these terms are governed by German law. If you have a question about them, send it through the contact page, or use the address on the Impressum.
08 · Changes
If these change, the date at the top changes too.
I may update these terms as The Bone Room grows. When I do, the date at the top moves and I will describe what changed. Carrying on using The Bone Room after that means you are happy with the new terms.
